Surface Pro 9 was announced on October 12, 2022, with Intel and ARM-based 5G variants starting at $999, during Microsoft’s annual hardware event.
The device launched with a starting price of $999 for the Wi-Fi model, which includes a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U processor, 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 128 GB SSD.
Surface Pro 9 is available in two main variants: a Wi-Fi model powered by Intel’s 12th Gen U-series processors, and a 5G model powered by the ARM-based Microsoft SQ3 processor. The 5G version also includes a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI-enhanced features like background blur and eye contact correction.
At the same event, Microsoft also introduced the Surface Laptop 5 and Surface Studio 2+, marking a major refresh across its Surface lineup.
